Motivation Is Essential To Pass That Test
May 30th, 2010 by admin
We all have a problem with this from time to time. It is so difficult to get motivated to do things that we are not looking forward to doing. Sometimes, we aren’t sure why, but we can’t seem to get motivated to do anything, or maybe certain things in particular. In the case of passing tests, exams, mid terms, and finals, motivation is important, because this will affect grades that are important for the future.
Motivation is that get it done attitude that a lot of us lack from time to time. However, if you can find a way to stay motivated on the topic at hand, you will do well on your exams and that will help you to pass tests the classes you need to ensure a bright future. There are several things that you can do to make sure that you are motivated when you don’t feel like studying or just want to put it off.
First off, in order to be motivated to do anything, we have to know what is at stake, and care about whatever it is. Start thinking about how important your grades actually are, then you will be far more likely to pull out your books and study the material. Remember that every test, is like a challenge, and if you rise to it, you are that much closer to your goal of finishing the class with a high grade that you are proud of.
Secondly, studying can be short and enjoyable if you let it. Cramming everything in at the last minute is difficult, frustrating, and that is what you will remember the next time you have to study, leading to more procrastination. The problem is, many of us choose to procrastinate to the last minute, then try to cram it all in. If we would just start studying earlier, and realize that we will retain more if we study over a period of time, then maybe study habits and motivation would change and help us to do better on our tests. It also makes studying more enjoyable.
To make studying more fun, besides spacing out your studying for the test, study with a group. It is much easier to motivate yourself to study if you have friends who are there to help motivate you, and you to motivate them. Set up a study date with a group in the class, and go over all the material. With a group, you can ask questions that you may not understand, and someone in the group who does can help. This brings a lot of relief to having to study, knowing that you have others to help you learn the material can be a great motivator to get together and get it done.
Another great motivator is thinking positively about your studies. If you have a negative, don’t want to do it attitude, you are more likely to put it off, and find it hard to stay motivated, this can be a problem that will cause you to cram, and possibly have a declining grade. Instead, realize that this material needs to be learned, find a fun way to study, and get past not feeling motivated. Think about how much you want an A, work hard early, and you will have no trouble getting that A when the time comes.
Motivation is hard for everyone, however, if you want to do well, it is attainable with a few key items. Know and visualize how important it would be to get an A on a test, study in shorter amounts instead of cramming the night before in order to absorb and feel comfortable about passing. If you are having a hard time, study with friends for help or if you are having a hard time getting motivated yourself to pass tests. Lastly, think positive thoughts about getting an A, which will fuel you to want to study to reach that goal. It is achievable if you just decide that you are going to do it. Now, get to it! Happy Studying!
