Setting Up Private Tutoring Arrangements that Work

    May 20th, 2010 by admin

Education is one of the most important focuses of a young person’s life.  Indeed, it sets the stage for future successes and even for job placement and personal wealth.  All of this begins early in childhood, and it is therefore important that children are given every chance they can to learn at a young age and to perform well in their academic studies.  Some children struggle in this area more than others do, and there are few things more stressful for a parent than to watch a child fall behind on school work and watch their grades slip.  When this begins to happen, many parents rightly turn to private tutors for help.

Finding private tuition may sound easier than it actually is.  If you use a friend or family member, you often times do not know what you are going to be getting.  Is the tutor qualified?  Is he or she certified or licensed?  Will he or she truly pay attention to how my child learns and incorporate that specific learning style into the lessons?  When you imagine all of the awkward situations that could occur from an arrangement with family or friends not working out, it becomes more attractive to use a professional tutoring service to find a private tutor for your child.

Using a service gives you a peace of mind that you are choosing from qualified individuals to help your child study.  After all, you do not want to waste precious time of your child’s studies with someone who is unqualified and may not actually help your child.  With a tutoring service, you choose from a list of local tutors who are screened and approved and already qualified to help your child.  You choose the location, the subject,

Another issue with private tutoring is oftentimes the costs associated with hiring one on one help.  Tutoring services help you eliminate this issue by letting you specify the price you are willing to pay and then matching prospective tutors based on that price.  Therefore, you know up front what the tutor is charging, and since you specified the price, hopefully you know that you can pay for it.
