Study English in London and enjoy the city’s music and theatre scene

    August 5th, 2010 by admin

Are you an international student and a music and theatre lover? If you are, then consider taking English courses in London! Not only is London the most popular city to study English in, but it’s also a culturally rich city with so much activities and events to offer. You will never get bored while studying in London.

    London’s music scene

If you’re studying in London, your visit will not be complete until you’ve seen one or more concerts. You’re spoiled for choice in London, given the number of activities and events happening all the time. There is something for all tastes in music. There are hybrid clubs, DJ bars, and many more!

    London’s classical music scene

There are few temples of essential classical music, such as the Barbican Hall, the National Opera Francais or the Royal Albert Hall. Purcell Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Opera House are also other temples. Some churches, including St. Martin-in-the-Fields, offer concerts of baroque music (by candlelight!) twice every week.

    London’s theatre scene

Most theatres in central London are in the West End. They usually play the “boulevard”, except a few pieces that can be found in the fringe theatres and that access to the honors of the West End. The shows on the West End are the most expensive ones and their tickets are also the hardest ones to get.

Many small theatres, despite financial and production costs, present performances of the highest quality and probably make London the world capital of experimental theater, even ahead of New York!

So if you are a music and theatre lover and you are looking for a place to study English, look no further! Consider London.
