The worls and beatuty of Excel

    August 8th, 2010 by admin

When creating reports and presentations, it would be hard to miss out on including any excel files, documents, charts and formatted table. Microsoft is such a powerful tool that an expert or beginner can rely on to from simple computations, charts, pivot, graphs to complicated macros, auto-fill and more. I first learned using this application when I was in 3rd grade and had to really impress my teacher on my project in Geography: demographics of the states in Western part of the United States. Mom and dad are working then and little brother only know how to operate his play station then. So, I had to figure out everything on my own and used the right most key for help with excel charts. After 2-3 hours of entering queries, I was able to come up with a convincing chart showing the population, age groups, tax mapping and income of the 10-12 states at one side of the US. I got an A+ that time. Fast forward to 15 years– I am now working as a Senior Team Leader for the Recruitment Team in a customer service provider company and have deliverables daily. Reports and more of them each day consume most of my time. I still kept my habit on reaching out to help with excel formulas, charts, graphs and computations. But, I actually bought several handbooks on Excel and enrolled myself on internal trainings that have to do with the complications and beauty of Excel application. My work seemed smoother now and my team can easily decipher their individual goals that make up for the group daily target. It is really a very effective tool to communicate various ideas in a more visual approach.
